How treatment works at HealifyMD

Every treatment starts the same way: a free online eligibility check, then a visit with a licensed clinician who reviews your symptoms, history, medicines and, where needed, lab results. If a treatment fits, your clinician writes a personalized plan, a licensed U.S. pharmacy fills the prescription and ships it to you, and follow-up visits adjust the plan over time.

Not everyone qualifies for every treatment, and that is by design. Part of a clinician's job is to say no when a medicine is unlikely to help or carries too much risk for you. Services are available only in states where our clinicians are licensed.

Metabolic and weight care

GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide and the dual GIP/GLP-1 medicine tirzepatide reduce appetite and support meaningful weight loss for many adults with obesity or weight-related conditions. We offer compounded injections and oral capsules, metformin for insulin resistance and prediabetes, and a program for people who get branded GLP-1s through their own insurance. GLP-1s carry a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumors and are not for anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2.

Hormone therapy

For women, the hormone therapy plan can include estradiol as a topical preparation, cream or patch, estriol vaginal cream for genitourinary symptoms and progesterone to protect the uterus. For men, options include testosterone replacement and an enclomiphene-based tablet that supports the body's own production while helping preserve fertility. Hormone decisions are individual: your clinician weighs symptom relief against risks such as blood clots, stroke and breast cancer, informed by updated FDA labeling and Menopause Society guidance.

Peptides, NAD+ and longevity

This category includes sermorelin, NAD+ injections, glutathione, methylene blue, rapamycin, B12 injections and several recovery peptides. Some, like B12 for a documented deficiency, have solid evidence. Many others are promising in the lab but have limited or early human data, and some peptides face specific FDA compounding restrictions. Each product page states its evidence level and regulatory status, so you can decide with realistic expectations.

Sexual wellness and other treatments

Daily tadalafil, oxytocin and a combined blend of tadalafil, oxytocin and PT-141 address erections, desire and connection, while beta blockers can help with performance anxiety and a 4-in-1 compounded formula targets hair loss. Sexual concerns in midlife often have medical causes, including heart and hormone changes, so your clinician looks at the whole picture first.

Lab testing

A comprehensive lab panel is the usual starting point, and specialty tests include the DUTCH hormone panel, gut microbiome and GI testing, a continuous glucose monitor, a methylation panel, a multi-cancer early detection test and a male fertility test. Labs are priced separately from treatment and help your clinician tailor and monitor your plan.

What compounded means

Many HealifyMD treatments are compounded, meaning a licensed pharmacy prepares them for an individual patient. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, are not reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality before use and are not equivalent to or interchangeable with branded products such as Wegovy or Zepbound. Where an FDA-approved version exists, your clinician can discuss it with you, and each product page says clearly which category it falls into.

Safety comes with every plan

Each product page lists who a treatment is for, who should avoid it, common and serious side effects and what your clinician monitors. Some medicines carry FDA boxed warnings, such as the thyroid C-cell tumor warning on GLP-1s, the endometrial cancer warning on estrogen-alone therapy and the immune-suppression warning on sirolimus. Others have important interactions, like methylene blue with antidepressants or tadalafil with nitrates.

Reading these sections before your visit helps you ask better questions. If something on a page applies to you, mention it during your eligibility review, even if you are unsure it matters.

Common questions

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

Start with the free eligibility check. A licensed clinician reviews your answers and history and recommends options, which may include labs first.

Are HealifyMD treatments FDA-approved?

Some are FDA-approved products, such as metformin and estradiol patches, and many are compounded. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and each product page states its status.

Do I need lab work before starting?

It depends on the treatment. Hormone and longevity treatments usually need baseline labs, which are priced separately.

Can I combine treatments, such as HRT and a GLP-1?

Often, yes. Your clinician reviews every medicine together to check for interactions and overlapping side effects.

Is there a membership fee?

No. You pay for the treatments and tests you use, with prices confirmed at the eligibility review.

What happens after I am prescribed something?

A licensed U.S. pharmacy fills and ships your medication, and your clinician schedules follow-up to check progress and side effects.

Can I stop a treatment at any time?

Yes, but some medicines are best tapered or replaced with a plan. Talk to your clinician before stopping.
