How these answers are organized
We grouped our answers by the decision you are trying to make rather than by product name. If you are still deciding whether online care fits you, the getting-started and choosing-care pages walk through how a visit works and how to judge any provider, including us. If you already know which treatment interests you, jump to the topic page for it.
Every topic page opens with several short sections that tackle the biggest questions in full sentences, followed by quick-hit FAQs. Where a topic touches another one, such as GLP-1 medication and hormone therapy in menopause, we link across so you do not have to hunt.
Questions about starting care
Most first-time questions are practical: what happens after the online assessment, whether you will actually speak with a clinician, what it costs and whether insurance or a health savings account can help. Those are covered on the getting-started and pricing pages.
In short, you complete a free online assessment, a licensed clinician reviews it, you meet by video or online visit, and if a treatment makes sense, a licensed U.S. pharmacy ships it to you. Follow-up continues for as long as you are in care. Prices are confirmed at the eligibility review, before you commit to anything.
Questions about specific treatments
The treatment topics cover GLP-1 weight-loss medication and its side effects, hormone therapy for women in perimenopause and menopause, testosterone therapy and fertility for men, sexual health, peptides, NAD+ and other injectables, and longevity medicines such as rapamycin and metformin.
Many of the medications prescribed through HealifyMD are compounded, which means a licensed pharmacy prepares them for an individual patient. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and they are not the same as branded products such as Wegovy or Zepbound. Each topic page explains what that means for the specific treatment.
Questions about tests and numbers
Blood work sits underneath almost everything we do, so we gave it three pages. The lab-testing page explains reference ranges, preparation and why one result is rarely the whole story. The lab-markers page goes marker by marker, from ApoB and Lp(a) to ferritin, TSH and vitamin D. The specialty-panels page covers tests such as the DUTCH hormone panel, gut microbiome analysis, continuous glucose monitors and multi-cancer screening.
What an FAQ cannot do for you
These pages are education, not a diagnosis or a prescription. Two people with the same question can need different answers because of their age, medical history, current medications or lab results. Your clinician makes the call, and sometimes the right call is no treatment at all.
HealifyMD is not an emergency service. If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness, a severe allergic reaction or thoughts of harming yourself, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
How we keep these answers accurate
We write from primary sources such as the FDA, NIH, CDC and professional societies, and we say plainly when evidence is limited, early or based only on animal studies. Medical content is reviewed under our editorial policy, with Dr. Vanessa Niles serving as medical reviewer. Regulations, especially for compounded drugs and peptides, change often, so we update pages when the rules move.
If you have a question we have not answered, email support@healifymd.com and we will point you in the right direction.
