Common questions
Is HealifyMD a pharmacy or a medical practice?
Neither. HealifyMD is a technology and administrative platform; independently licensed clinicians provide the care and licensed pharmacies fill prescriptions.
Do I have to start with lab testing?
Often, yes, because many treatment decisions depend on your results. If you already have recent bloodwork, your clinician may be able to use it.
How much does it cost to get started?
The eligibility check is free and there is no membership fee. Treatment and lab prices are listed on each page and confirmed during your eligibility review.
Do you take insurance?
Our listed prices are self-pay. You can ask your insurer or FSA/HSA administrator whether any part of your care may qualify for reimbursement.
Will I definitely get a prescription?
No. Your clinician decides whether treatment is appropriate, and sometimes the right recommendation is more testing, a referral or no medication.
Is everything really online?
The assessment, visits and follow-ups happen online. The one in-person step that may be needed is a blood draw for lab work.
Is my information private?
Your health information is handled under our privacy policies, including our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which explains how it is used and what rights you have.
More about HealifyMD
What HealifyMD is
HealifyMD is an online service built for the health questions that tend to show up in midlife: weight that no longer responds to the old routine, hot flashes and broken sleep, lower drive, slower recovery and a general sense that your energy has shifted. We give you a straightforward way to get those questions in front of a licensed clinician without waiting weeks for an office appointment.
We are a technology and administrative platform. The medical care itself is provided by independently licensed clinicians, and any prescription is filled by a licensed U.S. pharmacy. That separation matters: the clinician makes every treatment decision, and the answer can be "no treatment needed."
Areas of care
Each program is designed for adults, and each starts with an assessment rather than a product. These are the main areas you can explore:
- Lab testing: a comprehensive blood panel ($199) plus specialty tests such as hormone, gut and glucose monitoring options.
- Medical weight loss: compounded semaglutide (from $299/month) or tirzepatide (from $399/month) for eligible patients, alongside nutrition and strength guidance.
- Hormone optimization: hormone therapy for women in perimenopause and menopause, and testosterone therapy for men with confirmed low testosterone.
- Peptide therapy and repair: clinician-reviewed options where the evidence is explained honestly, including where it is still thin.
- NAD+ and longevity: compounded NAD+ injections and related options, positioned as one input next to sleep, training and nutrition.
- Sexual wellness: care for desire, arousal and erectile changes in both women and men.
Why we measure before we treat
Many midlife symptoms overlap. Fatigue can come from low iron, an underactive thyroid, poor sleep, low testosterone or simple overload. Weight gain can reflect insulin resistance, menopause, medications or muscle loss. Guessing wastes time and money, and it can mean treating the wrong problem.
That is why most plans begin with bloodwork or a review of recent results you already have. Your clinician compares the numbers with your symptoms and history, then explains what they point to. You can order a lab panel on its own with no obligation to start any treatment.
How a typical start works
You complete a short online health questionnaire. A licensed clinician reviews it and connects with you by video or secure messaging, depending on what your state and your treatment require. If labs are needed, you get instructions for a blood draw.
If a treatment makes sense, your clinician writes a personalized plan and the prescription goes to a licensed pharmacy that ships to you. Follow-ups are built in, so your dose and plan can change as your results and symptoms change. Prices are confirmed during the eligibility review, before you commit to anything.
A straight answer on compounded medications
Several HealifyMD treatments are compounded, meaning a licensed pharmacy prepares them for an individual patient. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold, and they are not the same as branded products such as Wegovy or Zepbound.
We say this on every relevant page because you deserve to know exactly what you are being prescribed. Our page on what compounded means explains the 503A and 503B pharmacy categories and the questions worth asking.
The physicians behind the content
Our educational content is medically reviewed by Dr. Vanessa Niles, R.N., M.D., F.A.C.O.G., a board-certified OB-GYN with more than 40 years in women's health. Dr. Benjamin H. Krasne, M.D., is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and focuses on longevity and metabolic health.
Content is written to be accurate and conservative. When research is early, small or limited to animals, we say so plainly.
What it costs
There is no membership fee, and the eligibility check is free. You pay for the labs and treatments you choose. Listed prices include, for example, $199 for the Comprehensive Lab Panel, from $299/month for compounded semaglutide and $249 for the first month of testosterone therapy, then $149/month.
Every price is confirmed during your eligibility review, before you are charged. Apart from the labs included in the first month of our hormone programs, labs are priced separately from treatment, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Who HealifyMD is for, and who it is not for
HealifyMD is for adults 18 and older, with programs shaped around the changes of midlife. It is not an emergency service. If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, signs of a stroke or thoughts of harming yourself, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Care is available only in states where our clinicians are licensed, and some treatments are not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding or with certain health conditions. The eligibility check is where those questions get answered.
