Booking questions
Which letter should I book?
Book an ESA letter if your animal helps by being with you. Book a psychiatric service dog (PSD) letter only if your dog is individually trained to perform tasks related to a mental health condition. If you are not sure, your clinician will explain which fits.
How much do the letters cost?
An ESA letter is $129 for up to 2 pets or $199 for 3 or more. A PSD letter is $149 for up to 2 dogs or $229 for up to 3.
When will I get my letter?
If the clinician approves your letter, it is emailed to you within 24 hours. In California, a letter for an emotional support dog can only be issued after a 30-day client relationship under AB 468, so it arrives later. If you don't qualify, no letter is issued.
What happens at the evaluation?
A licensed clinician asks how you feel day to day and how your animal helps. For a PSD letter, they also ask which tasks your dog is trained to do.
